Water is so beneficial, so easy, so free yet so easily overlooked. Everything you write about staying hydrated makes sense, but I just heard a commentary on National Public Radio the day before yesterday by a former Assistant Surgeon General (Douglas Camerow, now at Hopkins as a Health Services Researcher and columnist) discussing a new article in BMJ about medical myths. Water helps us, you know, go by helping dissolve fats and soluble fiber. Drinking as little as more water means you ll eat fewer.
Its really a no brainer (actually your brain is water!).
These are just a few of the many reasons why water is good for your body. Quick rules of thumb for drinking water: Drink half your bodyweight in ounces of water (if you weight 160lbs, drink 80oz of water each day). Drinking enough water prevents constipation and also reduces the burden on the kidneys and liver by helping to flush waste.
I always thought drinking plenty of water was a good thing to do.
